"Holy" Roads
Unfortunately as I drive around I have to constantly be on the lookout for holes in the road! A pot hole here would be considered a crater back home. Thankfully I have every hole thoroughly memorized on my route to a nearby town. But humungous potholes are only the beginning of my driving adventure. As I pull off the main road and start driving on the town road I begin to wish for pavement that had holes in it. I weave in between houses and under clothes lines and beside outdoor showers. Small children begin to flock toward the vehicle and chant “bruni ba” (white man has come). Then I arrive at the place where my pastor friend and I are teaching a group the story of the Bible. The horrible holes and the difficult driving no longer seem to be that big of problem. People are hearing God’s word. I look forward to the day when I will walk with these people on holy roads instead of roads with holes. I look forward to seeing these very people in the city that has streets of gold. What a day that will be!! (Revelation 21.21)
