Longing for a Voice

So Saturday I had the privilege to listen to the Reds stomp the Pirates in an 11-2 victory. I had just purchased an audio subscription to MLB.com which would allow me to listen to any baseball game of the season. (Of course, the only games I will be listening to are the Cincinnati Reds) But, there was one problem. As soon as I settled down into my chair with some Lay’s Potato Chips and Frito’s cheese dip (thanks Locust Grove Baptist Church), I was faced with the harsh reality that my internet was not working. Oh man!! It’s not even raining!! What’s going on!? So, I sat my potato chips aside and pulled out my seminary books to prepare for next week’s classes. I kept glancing up from my book every minute or so hoping that the internet would be working. I did that for about an hour. Then it happened. The internet came back on and I was greeted with Marty Brennaman’s voice. Even though I was doing work I kept my eye on the computer screen hoping that my ears would hear that old familiar radio voice. When I finally heard that voice I was so excited. Amazing! How much more excited will I be when I hear the voice of the bridegroom, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? (Matthew 25:6).
